Anchor Hanover celebrates Pride Month 2021
Pride has been as important as ever across all of our locations this year, with everyone at Anchor Hanover going the extra mile to celebrate the diversity of our colleagues and residents.
Much of this year’s Pride Month activity took place over Zoom, including our LGBTQ+ Coffee Morning, Bingo afternoon hosted by renowned Drag Queen Linda Bacardi as well as a Pride-themed BeActive session, which saw everyone involved decked out in rainbow-coloured clothing.
It's been fantastic to see so many colleagues and residents getting involved with activities - here is just a little snapshot of some of the things we’ve been getting up to....
This year also saw residents and colleagues indulge in a nationwide ‘Pride in Cakes’ competition, with everyone encouraged to get baking and share their rainbow creations on social media. Well done to all those involved in baking and decorating these fabulous creations and huge congratulations to our competition winners at Chesterton Lodge, Moore Place and Maple Tree Court.
Here at Anchor Hanover, we aim to ensure that dignity and respect are central to the way we work and that the unique contributions of our colleagues and residents are valued and acknowledged. Read more about Pride Month at Anchor Hanover in a special blog from our Chief Financial Officer and Executive Sponsor for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Sarah Jones.
And while Pride Month may have come to a close, we’re dedicated to identifying ways in which we can demonstrate inclusivity all year round; through the correct use of pronouns, continual learning and working closely with groups such as our Rainbow Network and LGBT+ Resident Group.
