St Anne’s care home residents enjoy Christmas festivities
Residents at St Anne’s care home are taking part in various Christmas activities this year to get into the holiday spirit.
The residents living at St Anne’s kicked off the festive season with a virtual Christmas concert, as well as a cake decorating competition.
Although current circumstances have made the lead up to Christmas unusual, these festive activities were organised by Anchor Hanover as a way of making sure that St Anne’s residents could still enjoy this special time of year.
Resident Brenda Hodge, 86, is excited by the range of activities St Anne’s has planned for this year. She said:
Christmas is such a special time of year and I am so grateful that there are still so many events to enjoy here. Watching the Christmas concerts really lifted by holiday spirit!
Anchor Hanover has also enabled events during which residents can still enjoy what the local community has to offer. Residents at St Anne’s enjoyed a filmed nativity play and an outdoor Christmas carols concert both performed by local schoolchildren.
Neil McCalley, Manager of St Anne’s, said:
Although this Christmas is a bit different, we are continuing with many of our annual activities plus adding some special events. Normally during the festive season local schools would come into the home and see our residents. Even though this is not possible this year, we are still staying connected with them through virtual events and outdoor carolling.
Located in its own beautiful grounds in Saltash, Cornwall, St Anne’s care home prides itself on its warm and welcoming atmosphere and was recently rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
